Overview
The Casino Liquor and Gaming Control Authority commenced operations on 1 July 2008 under the Casino Liquor and Gaming Control Authority Act 2007. This new Authority replaces the NSW Casino Control Authority, Liquor Administration Board and the Licensing Court of NSW.
Under the Casino Control Act 1992 the Authority is the sole body responsible for regulation of gaming and liquor matters at Star City casino, encompassing both licensing and enforcement functions. Under the Liquor Act 2007, Gaming Machines Act 2001, Registered Clubs Act 1976 and related legislation, regulatory functions are shared between the Authority and the Director of Liquor and Gaming. Information regarding regulatory activities under these Acts is contained on the Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing website which can be accessed via the “Liquor, Gaming & Registered clubs” link at the left.
