Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority
The Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority ("the Authority") commenced operations on 1 July 2008, under the Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Act 2007.
This new Authority replaces the NSW Casino Control Authority, Liquor Administration Board and Licensing Court.Under the Casino Control Act 1992 the Authority is the sole body responsible for regulation of gaming and liquor matters at The Star, encompassing both licensing and enforcement functions. Under the Liquor Act 2007, Gaming Machines Act 2001, Registered Clubs Act 1976 and related legislation, regulatory functions are shared between the Authority and the Director General of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services.
